An Endodontic procedure, better known as root canal therapy, is often misconceived as an extremely painful procedure. The truth is that more than 95% of patients experience little or no pain after treatment. Normally a root canal is performed because the tooth has been traumatized or invaded by bacteria creating an infection. The therapy consists of removing the damaged nerve then disinfecting and filling the canals.
