The MDI System

Dr. Curtis uses a miniature titanium implant that acts like the root of your tooth and a metal hub that is placed in your denture. The denture housing contains a rubber O-ring that snaps over the ball on the implant when the denture is seated.

Placement of the implants is accomplished quickly and easily in a process performed in the dentist's office with local anesthesia or light sedation to make you more comfortable. The heads of the implants protrude from the gum tissue and provide a strong, solid foundation for securing dentures. The typical patient receives 4 - 6 implants. Not all patients are suitable for this procedure, but you can schedule an appointment with Dr. Curtis to discuss this possibility.

3 Visits are required to place implants

First: Check bone density and make a new denture (sometimes an old denture can be used if there is enough room to hold the implant housings.)

At this visit the doctor will take two x-rays (a pano and a ceph) to measure bone density and thickness. Cost of this visit is $100.

Second: Place implants.

This visit will take 2-3 hours depending on how many implants are placed. Implants are $450 each. A temporary liner is placed in the denture until the bone heals around the implants. An x-ray will be taken to double check placement. The cost of the second visit will range from $1,540 to $2,310 depending on the number of implants placed.

Third: Visit to place hubs in denture.

This visit will occur 5 days after the implants are placed. At this time we will place the hubs in your denture and you will be able to wear your dentures with confidence. There is no charge for this visit.

Immediate Dentures - $450/Plate, extractions are extra.

These dentures are for patients who would like the convenience of having teeth extracted and dentures placed in the same day. Patients who choose this option will have the denture impression taken on the first appointment and come back two weeks later to have the extractions performed. The denture is seated immediately after all teeth have been removed.

Complete Dentures - $400/Plate

These dentures are for patients who have had their teeth previously removed for at least three weeks. For a proper fit, three steps are required. First; take impressions. Second; Try in. The teeth are set in a wax mold. This gives the patient an opportunity to check the fit and make any changes. Third; the finished denture is seated.

Valplast Partials - $450/Plate

Partials are for patients who are missing a few teeth and would like the spaces filled without having major restorative work done. The Valplast is a strong, flexible removable partial denture. It is perfectly suited to the variety of natural conditions in the mouth and patients appreciate its added comfort.

Caste Metal Partials - $550/Plate

This type of partial has a metal base and is complex in design with rigid materials adapted to a flexible environment.
